Colony PCR is a simple method to amplify DNA in which cells are directly used as template.
This method can be used both for:
- Yeast grown on a plate
- for less complicated fragments <2.5kb use the Yeast Colony PCR using TopTaq
- for difficult to amplify fragments or large fragments >2.5kb use the Phusion colony PCR
- and for E coli that was grown on plate or in liquid
