Benomyl

Benomyl is a fungicide that depolymerises microtubules which disrupts the mitotic cell cycle. Because it is more toxic to Ascomycetes than to Basidiomycetes, it can be used to select for basidio's when isolating natural isolates.

Benomyl is of low toxicity to mammals, so work with it carefully.

Usage

Add Benomyl at final concentration of 10μg/ml.

  • 6.7 μl/ml
